Dear OWL Families,

Welcome to the new school year! I am thrilled to welcome you all back to what promises to be another amazing year at Joshua Tree. As your principal, it brings me great joy to reflect on our successes from last year and to share the exciting journey ahead.

Last year was a remarkable one for our school community. We achieved higher attendance rates, a notable decrease in major discipline referrals, full student leadership, and significant academic growth, as evidenced by our results on the iReady and CAASPP assessments. These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible students, the unwavering commitment of our talented staff, and the invaluable partnership and support of our families.

While there are so many memorable moments from last year, it all culminated on our final day, which was filled with joy and celebration. We held our 6th-Grade promotion ceremony which was a special event that highlighted the achievements and growth of our students, and then we capped it off with a school-wide water celebration, where even I had the honor of being sprayed by the San Bernardino Fire Department! Experiences like these have helped foster a positive school culture and climate that we can all be proud of.

As we look ahead, I am excited to announce that we are redefining our school vision: Our vision is to create an inclusive and safe educational environment where each and every child is empowered to achieve their full potential. We believe in a future where all students are responsible, respectful, and ready to succeed in an ever-changing world.

To support this vision, we have set our school goals for the year, which focus on:

Student Communication and Collaboration: We will intentionally develop both written and verbal communication skills among our students.

Goal Setting and Data Tracking: Students will be empowered to set personal Goals and track their progress to foster a sense of ownership and accountability in their learning.

Enhancing Community and Family Partnerships: We will continue to strengthen our connections with families and the community to support our students' growth and success.

Together, let’s make this year our best yet. Your involvement, support, and engagement contribute significantly to the success of our campus.
