PBIS is an implementation framework for maximizing the selection and use of evidence-based prevention and interventions practices along a multi-tiered continuum that supports the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral supports of all students.

The Condor community developed four school-wide behavior expectations: Safety, Outstanding Attitude, Achievement, and Respect and Responsibility (SOAR). In addition, a school-wide behavior matrix was developed that shows what these expectations look like in each area of the school campus. Teachers explicitly teach these expectations and give specific, positive feedback when students are meeting these expectations.

Students are regularly rewarded with tickets to spend at the SOAR Store, weekly recognition (SOARing Star of the Week), positive referrals to the principal, extra recess time with the PE Coach, and with quarterly celebrations. SOARing Stars are featured on our bulletin board in the front office and certificates are good for a free kid's meal at Denny's!

Review our behavior expectations with your child. Use similar behavior expectations at home. Provide positive reinforcement at home when students are demonstrating expected behaviors (specific praise such as "I like how you showed respect by using your manners and cleaning up your area at the dinner table"). Share comments with or ask questions of the school's PBIS Team members. Become a member of the school's Site Council and offer your ideas. Attend PBIS events.

PBIS Team members meet regularly to analyze school behavior and discipline data. The team uses this data to find trends, identify problem areas, and find research-based interventions to help solve these problems. PBIS Schools also utilize the Self-Assessment Survey (SAS). The SAS is an annual assessment used by schools to identify the staff perception of the implementation status and improvement priority for school-wide, classroom, non-classroom and individual student systems. Results of the SAS are effective in identifying the staff priorities for Action Planning. Our staff, in partnership with our district PBIS team, conducts two Tiered Fidelity Inventories (TFI) yearly. The TFI gives teams a single, efficient, valid, reliable survey to guide implementation and sustained use of SWPBIS. Using the TFI, teams measure the extent to which school personnel apply the core features of PBIS at all three tiers. Click on the links below to view the results of our 18-19 TFI and SAS.
