The Morongo Unified School District is once again providing free meals for children in the Morongo Basin throughout the summer break. This year, the program will include the option to do a daily food pick-up or a weekly food pick-up to allow for more flexibility for our families.
For families whose children are not enrolled in a summer program where meals are already provided, food boxes will be available every week.
Drive-through distributions will be held 10-11 a.m. every Tuesday June 18 to July 30 at Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Landers and Morongo Valley elementary schools.
The child’s parent or guardian must be present.
Families may complete an online form each week to indicate which meal box they want for each child, or simply show up at a participating school.
Families may also join schools for breakfast and lunch every day. Anyone age 18 or younger may get meals. For more information, call the nutritional services office at (760) 367-9191, extensions 4263 or 4271.
