Today is Holiday Hat Day,
Thursday is Christmas Character Day, and
Friday is 9th grade (Elves) wear Green, 10th grade (Icicles) wear Blue, 11th grade (Snowmen) wear White and 12th grade (Santa) wear Red.
The Yucca Valley High School Cheer Team will be hosting a cheer clinic for anyone interested in being a future Trojan cheerleader. There are flyers available in the front office or please look at their social media pages. The clinic will be Saturday, January 25 at Yucca high where you will learn skills and material and perform at a high school basketball game. Deadline for package packages are January 6 so make sure to get the information as soon as possible!
If you purchased Homecoming pictures please come by the ASB office during YOUR lunch with your student ID to pick them up.
SPORTS:
Interested in playing softball? Softball tryouts for all non-winter sport athletes will be January 7 through 10 and 13 through 15 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the high school softball field.
Swim team is getting ready to start the season after break, January 7. New or returning, If you are interested please sign up in the ASB office. Come out and help us continue our winning streak.
Our YVHS Boys Soccer played an away pre- season game at West Shores High School in Salton City. Final score was a loss of 2 to 1. Diego Delaney scored our only goal. we played a close game, where the defense played tough, our team continues to improve. The player of the game is Adrian Tamayo. We now look forward to a Christmas break Tournament at San Gorgonio HS in San Bernardino CA on Dec 27 and 28, where we look to solidify our team chemistry and get ready to begin our season in January 2025.
The Lady Trojan Basketball team bounced back from a a close loss last Friday night at La Quinta HS to win a tightly contested overtime game at Xavier Prep HS by a 45-38 score Monday night. Junior Teagan Moon led the team scoring a game high 18 points including four 3- point baskets. She was followed by senior Syhelie Gilmore who pumped in 8 points and senior Tayla Monroy who scored 7 points. Sophomores Nahveah Baclig and Kamea Medina both added 5 points. The win improved the squads record to 6-4 on the season with the next game on December 26 in the Desert Holiday Classic tournament versus Downey HS. Tip- off is set for 230pm at Palm Valley HS in Rancho Mirage.
The Lady Trojans Varsity Soccer played West shores high school in Salton city on Monday December 16th. They won their game with a 8-0 win with 4 goals by Arabella Arechiga, 2 By Ava Martinez, 1 By Malia Castaneda and 1 goal by Zoey Flores.
