The calendar has been released for the 2024-25 school year!
You may notice that there have been some changes to the calendar this year. This is in response to a long-standing effort to end the first semester at Winter Break.
In January of 2022, a Calendar Stakeholder Committee was formed to study the MUSD school
calendar. The Committee had representatives from MTA, CSEA, school site administration and
District Office. Two goals for the committee were to look at the current calendar in relationship
to surrounding districts and to discuss ending first semester at Winter Break. Both of these goals were in the interest of supporting students who transferred in and out of the district during the school year. A survey was sent out to all stakeholders, including parents and the community.
Over 80% agreed that the first semester should end at Winter Break. The Calendar Stakeholder Committee took this information and created a new calendar to meet that need, which resulted in the 2024-2025 school calendar
