Yucca Valley High School and Twentynine Palms High School sent their first ever competition squads from the culinary arts and management program to Rialto High School on Wednesday for the San Bernardino culinary arts chopped competition!
The TPHS team created a fried macaroni and cheese ball appetizer and the main dish was grilled chicken breast with a mushroom sauce, asparagus and quinoa risotto. They placed 3rd in best main dish.
“They did an amazing job,” said CTE instructor Katelin Gellness.
The YVHS team also created a chicken, quinoa and mushroom dish. They finished third overall and came home with the first prize for best main dish!
“I am so honored and proud to work alongside each and every one of my students, few can brave a competition like the one these students faced against the east and west ends of San Bernardino county,” said CTE instructor Ewalani Taijeron. “ Follow your passion and pursue your dreams.”
